Weir Cottage
Our Concerns!
Please don't be alarmed when we repeat all this before we agree an exchange. Over the years we have put enormous effort and expense into our houses. This cottage has features which are easily damaged e.g. the oak flooring if you have stones caught in your shoes! We are fairly strict with ourselves in that the property and furnishings are very well treated and we would hate to find spills over the carpet, suite etc., especially as we have always given our own children such a hard time! Much of our furniture is easily marked because it is solid oak so care is necessary by using place mats for hot, wet or scratchy things (a cold condensing wet glass is one of the worst). This is the case even in the kitchen where the granite counter tops are beautiful but impractical and the table is also antique oak.
The other big issue is home security. From what we have observed world-
These restrictions might not suit every potential exchanger but better find out now rather than later! Equally you can rest assured that your home would be respected and we are able to give any amount of references from previous exchangers. We reckon you would be hard pressed to know anyone has been in your home once you return and that's how it should be.
We are non smokers and would prefer to exchange with non smokers.
Our children have grown and flown the nest and the cottage itself isn't 'young child
friendly'.
You know how it is, once your own kids get older so the things are
brought down, once more, to low level! Because of the river and ponds the exchange
is unsuitable for smaller children and, being honest, we would probably prefer to
exchange with adults.
