Weir Cottage
House Details
Weir Cottage was originally built as a fisherman's cottage but in the last couple of years has been renovated and extended. Since we moved in this work has continued inside with upgrades to various rooms.
From the outside, Weir Cottage looks every bit the chocolate box' cottage but inside has been transformed into a very contemporary home dominated by the large family/kitchen/dining room. Flooring is solid New Forest oak and the kitchen surfaces are granite. All possible appliances are there and the room has a satellite system feeding two flat screens a plasma and an LCD operable from either location and linked. The Sky system offers hard drive 'Tivo' type facilities enabling simple recording and pausing of live TV shows. Choose from our library of 200 movies to watch on the DVD player. The system connects to the PC remotely allowing ‘online’ media to be viewed and operated from this room.

There is a small cloakroom/drying room off the hallway.
A really great thing about the house is the privacy if you have guests staying over. Unusually, the cottage has two staircases with similar accommodation on either side. One modern oak staircase leads off the family room (you can see it in the picture above) and up there is the master bedroom/dressing room, modern bathroom with separate shower and further bedroom overlooking the garden. The master suite is completely furnished with solid light oak contemporary furniture and has Sky LCD TV and a music system covering the entire floor i.e. master bedroom, bathroom and small bedroom.
Off the hall is the original (windy) staircase leading to the guest suite of two
bedrooms and a shower-
There is little to choose between one side or the other in terms of attractiveness
