GARDEN

Arguably, the garden is the finest feature of the property.  Close to the house is a more intimate area which is landscaped, private and great for outdoor eating if the weather is up to it.  There is a barbecue on the deck.  Across the stream (there are two bridges) the garden goes down to the natural ponds, streams and woodland.  In fact, the garden is constantly being upgraded - see foot of page for latest!

My brother and sister-in-law, Neil and Betty, came down shortly after we moved in to help get the garden ship shape.  Grateful thanks to them!!!

Neil and Shane in gardening mode and in the background of second picture the jungle before clearance.  See the ponds now!

Enjoy a drink beside the weeping willow sat by our very own river!

Maybe feed the ducks as the quack their way through:

              More garden views.

Even see a Kingfisher on the bridge waiting for his next catch!

The heron waiting for its breakfast

  Juvenile swans

And, of course, ducks are constant visitors.  Feed them...

We have no pets. You will, though, see lots of wildlife especially birds on our feeders, pheasant, an occasional fox or deer.  Although in a town setting with neighbours either side the impression is one of seclusion.  At the back other houses cannot be seen as they are beyond the small woodland.

We have now added a boardwalk and bog-garden to the garden which links the top formal garden with the ponds.

A summerhouse is also a newly added feature enabling the river to be enjoyed even on a less than ideal day..  New decking beside the river is a great place to sit on a sunny day.
